X-4RCE Heroes: Champions of Charity and Mental Health Awareness
Originally known as the Luton Lucky 7, the X-4RCE Heroes are a dynamic group of volunteers dedicated to promoting mental health awareness and engaging in charity work throughout Luton. This extraordinary team, led by the beloved local figure Luton's Deadpool, is composed of passionate individuals who bring popular characters to life while making a significant impact in their community.
Luton's Deadpool: The Heart of X-4RCE Heroes
Luton's Deadpool is the driving force behind the X-4RCE Heroes, known for his relentless community involvement and infectious humor. Born and raised in Luton, Deadpool has become a local icon through his extensive fundraising efforts for Keech Hospice Care and his volunteer work at the Luton Foodbank and various soup kitchens. His lively presence at major events like the St. Patrick's Day Parade, Luton Carnival, and Diwali has earned him widespread recognition, including a Love Luton Award in 2021 and the title of Best Fundraiser at the Community Interest Awards in 2022.
Beyond his public appearances, Deadpool has played a crucial role in promoting X-4RCE CIC, a men’s mental health support group aimed at reducing male suicide rates. His work has made a profound impact on the community, offering support and resources to those in need. Whether leading the X-4RCE Heroes in their charitable missions or collaborating on creative projects like promotional content for Cineworld Luton, Deadpool continues to use his platform to effect positive change in Luton.
Meet the Rest of the Team:
Harley Quinn/Sophie:
The first member to join Deadpool's mission, Harley Quinn has been instrumental in expanding the team and breaking down barriers. She convinced Deadpool to embrace collaboration, becoming a vital part of both the team and Deadpool's extended family. Harley's energy and dedication shine through in every event, making her an irreplaceable asset to the X-4RCE Heroes.
Poison Ivy/Spider Gwen (Izzy)
Izzy expertly manages the team's social media presence, ensuring that their message reaches a wide audience. Balancing the personas of Poison Ivy and Spider Gwen, she skillfully engages with the community online, spreading awareness about the group's activities and causes.
The Halo Boys – ODST Anderson and Striker
This duo adds a touch of futuristic flair to the team. Striker, the youngest member, joined the team in December and quickly became a key player. ODST Anderson is currently channeling his creativity into building an Iron Man suit, with support from the X-4RCE Creator Fund. Together, they bring a unique element to the group, combining their enthusiasm for cosplay with a deep commitment to their charitable efforts
The Marvellous Spider-Man
Not only does Spider-Man take the lead in the group's partnership with Luton Foodbank, but he also actively participates in litter-picking initiatives with ABCD in Luton, showcasing his commitment to keeping the community clean and helping those in need. His efforts ensure that the X-4RCE Heroes make a tangible difference in the lives of Luton residents
Our Mission
Since their first appearance at the St. Patrick's Day Festival in March, the X-4RCE Heroes have become a familiar sight at local events, from parades to community celebrations. Their presence is not just about entertainment; it's about raising awareness for mental health and providing support where it's needed most. Whether they're dancing in the streets or posing for photos, the X-4RCE Heroes are always focused on spreading their important message.
Community Impact
The X-4RCE Heroes are more than just characters—they are real-life superheroes who dedicate their time and energy to supporting Luton's community. Every half term, Easter, and Christmas, they team up with Luton's Deadpool to fundraise for X-4RCE CIC, ensuring that vital mental health services are accessible to those in need
Join Us
The X-4RCE Heroes are always looking for new ways to expand their mission and welcome volunteers who share their passion for making a difference. Whether you're interested in donning a superhero costume or supporting from behind the scenes, there's a place for you in the X-4RCE family.
