Reflecting on the Success of Luton Comic Con 2024

A Mental Health Focus Thanks to the National Lottery

As we look back on this year’s Luton Comic Con, we couldn’t be prouder of how the event unfolded. What made Comic Con 2024 truly special wasn’t just the incredible lineup of guests, artists, and fans, but the meaningful conversations around mental health that took center stage throughout the event. This year, we were able to turn Comic Con into a platform that not only celebrates pop culture but also raises awareness about men’s mental health, something that aligns deeply with X-4RCE’s mission.

A Big Thank You to the National Lottery Community Fund

None of this would have been possible without the generous support of the National Lottery Community Fund and the players of the National Lottery. Their funding allowed us to sponsor mental health initiatives at this year’s Comic Con, creating a safe and open space for discussions, workshops, and support. We were able to reach a wider audience, provide essential resources, and open up conversations that are often difficult but necessary.

The impact of this funding went far beyond the event itself, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who made this possible. With mental health at the forefront of this year’s Comic Con, we feel that we’ve taken a significant step toward building a stronger, more supportive community.

Looking Ahead to 2025

As we celebrate this success, we also want to take a moment to acknowledge a significant change. Kieren Hawken, who has served as Chairman of Luton Comic Con for many years and more recently as a director of X-4RCE, has made the decision to step down due to health reasons. Kieren has been a vital part of Comic Con and X-4RCE, and his passion and dedication have helped shape it into the beloved event it is today. We want to thank Kieren for everything he has done, and we wish him all the best in focusing on his health.

Moving forward, the X-4RCE team will be taking on a larger role in planning and delivering Luton Comic Con 2025. With the support of our dedicated team, we are excited to continue Kieren’s legacy and build on the success of this year’s event. We are committed to making Comic Con 2025 even bigger, better, and more impactful, with mental health remaining a core focus.

Stay tuned for more updates as we begin preparations for another unforgettable event!
