Who are we
Our founder - Wade Wilson
X-4RCE was founded in 2023 by Wade, following years of navigating the complexities
of NHS mental health services for Complex PTSD . His personal journey has been
shaped by childhood abuse , leaving a lasting impact on his mental health.
Despite seeking professional support, Wade found care to be inconsistent, often
exacerbating his condition rather than improving it. He faced misdiagnosis, multiple
therapists, ineffective treatment plans, and severe side effects from antidepressants,
all without any clear long-term strategy for recovery. In the end, he realized that the
only person who could truly help him was himself and from that, X-4RCE was born.
Wade created X-4RCE with a holistic approach to mental health, believing that healing
extends beyond traditional therapy. The group provides peer support, fitness, and a
sense of belonging, offering men a space where they are heard, understood, and
supported.
Determined to enhance the support available for men struggling with mental health,
Wade is currently studying a BSc in Psychology with Counselling. His commitment to
learning and growth is reflected in his extensive training, which includes:
- MIND BLMK – See The Signs Course (Suicide Prevention & Awareness)
- Board Development & Leadership Training (CVS Bedfordshire)
- Safeguarding Training
- Various other workshops to improve support and leadership skills
Through X-4rce, Wade is committed to ensuring that no man feels alone in his battle
with mental health. His lived experience, combined with his education and training,
drives the group’s mission: to provide support that truly makes a difference.
